Phong Nha – The Kingdom of Caves and Jungle Adventure

Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in Quang Binh Province is a UNESCO World Heritage Site protecting one of the world's largest cave systems. Son Doong Cave – discovered by a local farmer in 1991 and first explored in 2009 – is the world's largest cave by volume, with its own weather system, river and jungle inside. Other remarkable caves include Paradise Cave (31 km long), Dark Cave (excellent for zip-lining and kayaking), Phong Nha Cave (river cave by boat) and the Tu Lan cave system. The gateway town of Dong Hoi has daily flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and is on the North–South train line. Most visitors base themselves in Phong Nha village, 50 km west of Dong Hoi.
