Mui Ne – Vietnam's Kite Surfing Capital and Sand Dune Desert
Mui Ne is a beach resort town in Binh Thuan Province, 200 km northeast of Ho Chi Minh City (4–5 hours by bus). It is famous across Southeast Asia for two unique landscapes: the Red Sand Dunes (Hong Cat) and White Sand Dunes (Bau Trang) – a mini-Sahara in tropical Vietnam. The Fairy Stream (Suoi Tien) is a magical shallow creek flowing past red sandstone formations, bamboo forests and white dunes. Mui Ne is also Vietnam's premier destination for kite surfing, windsurfing and sandboarding, thanks to consistent strong winds from November to April. The charming Mui Ne Fishing Village and nearby Po Klong Garai Cham Towers add cultural interest. The road between Saigon and Mui Ne is being upgraded to expressway.
